چکیده
Introduction: Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is one of the greatest advances in field urology and has been considered gold standard treatment renal calculi more than 2 cm size. While both supine prone positions offer their unique advantages, it still being debated which position offers most terms surgical outcomes. We have evaluated two approaches operative time, success rate, stone clearance safety, complications. Methods: This prospective cohort study was done department a tertiary care center South India between January 2018 October 2020. A total 166 patients, with 83 positions, were included study. Results: Both groups matched age, body mass index, size location, co-morbidities, medications taken, presence diverticular stone, history surgery, baseline creatinine level. Mean time pain scores noted to be less as compared prone. Ease puncture superior position. Stone residue higher PCNL well. Conclusion: Supine PCNLs are preferred high-risk patients while bilateral PCNLs, complex anatomy, or larger burden.
